Horse Racing

What to consider when it comes to Horse racing tipsters? To begin with: do not choose a tipster that is too expensive. It can be a problem for many, keep in mind that there is no correlation whatsoever between an expensive tipster and a good tipster.

Most tipsters are somewhere around £ 30 a month. If you find a tipster that is far above that price – think carefully whether it is worth it or if it is so, that there are tipsters with better statistics that are cheaper.

The other thing to keep in mind is how long this potential tipster has actually worked. Is the tip new to the market? Is there data that he can show? How far does this racing tip extend? These are important variables in the search for the best tips out there.

And not enough of all this: now you should also choose which of these tipsters are actually worth a chance. So pose that you have now found a tipster that is not very expensive and he can show statistics that are satisfactory. Okay, good job.

Now you should also be able to throw in the variable accuarcy, ie – do you match the odds with reality? Many tipsters send out tips where the odds are several bars higher than what the average punk gets. This is a big problem.

There are many tipsters out there that are good. Some tips include HODL, Quentin Franks and Betting Alchemist. You simply get to google them. We do not work with affiliates’ links on this page, and will not start with it either. Then it can affect our credibility.

Weekend football betting preview and tips, including Liverpool, Leeds and Manchester United

There’s intrigue at every level this weekend, as the Football League enters its penultimate round of fixtures and the Premier League continues to race towards its conclusion.

ThePoolsm are offering betting on all matches. The original Football Pools has been part of our weekend football culture for over 95 years and now you can play with them online. Bet £10 this weekend and if your first bet loses, Thepools will give you a £5 free bet !

Friday night’s alright for The Reds Image: Kieran McManusBPIREX

The weekend’s action starts with Liverpool taking on Huddersfield on Friday night. The Reds will take back top place with a win – until Sunday at least – and it’s hard to see anything but a home win against a team that have long since looked like a Championship outfit.

In fact, those looking for interesting odds would be best to look at individual player markets, with Sadio Mane currently 52 to grab the first goal, Mo Salah 125 or the recently crowned PFA Player Of The Year Virgil Van Dijk is 141 to break the deadlock .

Bet on Liverpool vs Huddersfield .

On Saturday, there’s a busy fixture list to get your teeth into, with plenty still to play for across the divisions. In the Premier League, Crystal Palace versus Everton sees two form teams come together, and we can see the Eagles taking the points on home turf.

Elsewhere, Cardiff will have earmarked their tie away at Fulham as a game where they could grab a win and put the pressure on Brighton in that relegation scrap. We’re backing Warnock’s men to grab a narrow win and carry the fight on for another week.

Place your bets on the Premier League

In the Championship , the top two only play on Saturday evening, and Sheffield United will take top spot if they beat already-relegated Ipswich – which they will. Following them, Norwich have been coughing and spluttering their way to the finish line in recent weeks but we think they’ll finally confirm their promotion this weekend with a home win over Blackburn. Sorry Leeds fans.

In League One , there’s still four teams going for automatic promotion, and two of them face off this weekend with Sunderland hosting Portsmouth. A month on from that epic Checkatrade Trophy final between these two sides, we’re backing Sunderland to get revenge on their south coast rivals with a tight win.

Crystal Palace, Cardiff, Sheffield United, Norwich and Sunderland all to win – £10 on gets over £290 in an accumulator

Remember – if one team lets you down you’ll get your money back with our Acca Insurance .

Premier League to the wire? Image: Images

On Sunday, Manchester City will look to take back top spot in the Premier League when they travel to Turf Moor to face Burnley , probably the sternest test they have remaining this season. Sean Dyche’s men will be tough opposition but we’re backing Pep’s team to show the class required to secure all three points.

In the other Premier League ties, Leicester  host an Arsenal side who have lost twice in a week. The Foxes haven’t been fantastic recently but we can see them grabbing a win against Unai Emery’s lacklustre squad who struggle on the road.

That then leaves Manchester United vs Chelsea , two of the teams who seem desperate to not qualify for the Champions League. United did perform well in patches against City in midweek, and we’re backing them to grab a win against Chelsea and put a stop to a terrible run.

Place your bets on the Premier League

If you’re looking to build an acca from Sunday’s fixtures, there’s a couple of other tasty ties to look at. Leeds vs Aston Villa is a eye-catching Championship fixture – Bielsa’s topsy-turvy United against Dean Smith’s energetic play-off favourites.

With a record-breaking ten consecutive wins Villa will go to Elland Road full of expectation and we’re backing them to make it eleven on the bounce with another victory. Sorry again, Leeds fans.

Finally, there’s a fiery Scottish derby are there any other kinds? with Hibs hosting Hearts at Easter Road. Paul Heckingbottom is unbeaten as Hibernian manager since he took over in February, and we’re backing that run to continue on Sunday to round off our selections.

Hibernian, Leicester, Manchester City, Manchester United and Aston Villa all to win – £10 on wins over £770 in an accumulator !

Remember – if one team lets you down you’ll get your money back with our Acca Insurance .

Burnley vs Manchester City betting tips: Premier League match preview & predictions

Burnley vs Manchester City prediction: Burnley 1-2 Manchester City

Burnley find themselves in relatively good form, unbeaten in their last four matches.

No side has scored more away goals than City this season 33 while Burnley have conceded the fourth-most at home.

Manchester City have won 11 Premier League matches in a row and will retain their league title if they win their three remaining games.

Burnley vs Manchester City: Who will win?

Manchester City are 17 favourites to win on Sunday while a home win for Burnley is priced at a massive 221. The draw can be backed at 81.

Burnley have scored at least once in each of their last 15 matches at Turf Moor. Bet on both teams to score at 65.

Sergio Aguero is the Premier League’s joint-leading goalscorer this season with 19 goals. The Argentine has scored eight goals in his last seven matches against the Clarets. Aguero is 135 to open the scoring and 815 to score anytime.

Burnley vs Manchester City Premier League match preview

Manchester City face Burnley at Turf Moor on Sunday in their penultimate away match of the campaign.

City moved back to the top of the Premier League table on Wednesday night after beating rivals Manchester United 2-0 at Old Trafford. City looked a little nervy in the first half but goals from Bernardo Silva and Leroy Sane in the second period secured three crucial points for Pep Guardiola’s side.

Liverpool’s 5-0 rout of Huddersfield turned back the pressure on Manchester City. Jurgen Klopp’s side are now two points ahead but have played a game more.

This means that if City win their next three matches, against Burnley, Leicester and Brighton, they will be crowned champions of England once again.

Even the smallest of slip ups would hand the advantage back to Liverpool, who are expected to win their two remaining league matches against Newcastle and Wolves.

Burnley reached the coveted 40-point mark on Monday night after holding Chelsea to a 2-2 draw at Stamford Bridge. All four goals were scored in the opening 25 minutes of the match.

An excellent volley from Jeff Hendrick gave Burnley the lead early on but Chelsea were 2-1 up six minutes later. Ashley Barnes then equalised for Burnley, who are now all but safe from relegation.

After Cardiff failed to win their match with Fulham on Saturday, Burnley are already mathematically safe before Sunday’s kick-off. Burnley’s final two matches are against Everton and Arsenal.

With Sean Dyche in charge, and after a trying season where at one point relegation looked like, the pressure being off for Burnley could well galvanise them.

Burnley and Manchester City have met nine times in Premier League history, with City winning five and losing one.

Manchester City were 5-0 winners in the reverse fixture at the Eithad Stadium in October. Sergio Aguero, Bernardo Silva, Fernandinho, Leroy Sane and Riyad Mahrez all found the back of the net.

City won by the exact same scoreline when the sides met in the fourth round of the FA Cup in January.

Burnley team news vs Manchester City

Burnley have no further injuries from Wednesday’s game at Stamford Bridge.

Sean Dyche made no substitutions against Chelsea, so one or two players may be in need of a rest. The likes of Johann Berg Gudmundsson and Robbie Brady will be hoping to benefit from any rotation.

Phil Bardsley comes back into contention after recovering from a thigh laceration, putting Matthew Lowton’s place at risk.

Peter Crouch and Aaron Lennon remain sidelined while Steven Defour is a long-term absentee.

Burnley defender Ben Mee will face his former side. Goalkeeper Joe Hart won two Premier League titles at City but is currently back-up to Tom Heaton.

Manchester City team news vs Burnley

Unlike Liverpool, Manchester City do not have a midweek European fixture to consider, so Pep Guardiola is free to field his strongest available eleven.

City may be short of options in the base of midfield as Fernandinho and Ilkay Gundogan are both major doubts.

Fernandinho was forced off against Man United after twisting his knee attempting to block a shot, while Gundogan took a “big knock” late on in the match.

Both players will be assessed before Sunday. Fernandinho will reportedly miss out and could be out of the remainder of the campaign. Much could rest on Gundogan for the final three Premier League matches.

Bernardo Silva is capable of playing in a deeper midfield role, as is Fabian Delph, although the latter has not started a Premier League match since December.

Kevin de Bruyne is sidelined with a muscle injury although Guardiola hopes to have the midfielder available before the end of the season.

Club captain Vincent Kompany is not expected to start after completing 90 minutes at Old Trafford. One of Nicolas Otamendi and John Stones will likely partner Aymeric Laporte at the back.

Riyad Mahrez has been an unused substitute in each of City’s last three Premier League matches and will probably have to settle for a place on the bench again.

Back-up goalkeeper Claudio Bravo is a long-term injury absentee.

German Darts Open: Free betting tips and preview for the European Tour event

1pt Rob Cross to win the German Darts Open at 61

0.5pts e.w. Max Hopp at 801 13 1,2

Michael van Gerwen is hot favourite to win his third European Tour event of the season – just a week after bagging the 30th of his career in Munich – and there’s no doubt his form is pretty ominous right now.

He destroyed Simon Whitlock 8-3 in the German Darts Grand Prix final with his second 106 average of the day but don’t let that mask over the fact he avoided a real scare against Ted Evetts in the quarter-final while his 7-1 triumph over Rob Cross in the semi-finals was in no small part down to Voltage’s poor performance.

James Wade then came agonisingly close to becoming the second player ever to do a Premier League double over him on Thursday night as MVG rescued a point in a thrilling game by winning the last two legs, so you could argue that vulnerabilities are still evident as they were earlier in the campaign.

The world champion also has a tough draw, with Dimitri van den Bergh up first this evening after the rising Belgian star made it through Friday night’s opening round for the non seeded players.

If he gets through that then it’ll be either the fast throwing Machine Gun that is Jermaine Wattimena or Raymond van Barneveld, who desperately needs a big run this weekend to pick up crucial ranking points in his quest to qualify for a big major this season.

A resurgent Wade is a potential quarter-finalist and he’ll have plenty of backers himself considering how brilliantly he’s been playing in recent weeks, winning three Players Championship titles in the space of a fortnight earlier this month to complement his two majors towards the end of 2018.

He’s clearly not afraid of van Gerwen and revels in these tough challenges as he continues his climb back towards the summit, silencing many of his previous critics a long the way.

I wouldn’t put anyone off backing Wade at a best of 251 but I’d rather go to the opposite side of the draw, where Rob Cross appeals at 61 to finally pick up his first title of the season.

Generally he’s been playing a standard of darts better than anyone this season apart from MVG, although his form keeps going to pot each time he comes up against the Dutchman.

That said he did come close to defeating him in the European Darts Open final, losing 8-6, but he was crushed twice in the Premier League and – scoreline-wise at least – in Monday’s German Darts Grand Prix semis even though MVG only averaged 94.

He perhaps deserves a bit of a lucky break having been so impressive for large parts of the season and maybe fortune is starting to go his way after he survived four match darts to draw 7-7 with Gerwyn Price in the Premier League on Thursday night.

The duo could potentially meet in the quarter-finals if Cross can see off Chris Dobey before either Joe Cullen or Jerry Hendriks in round three – although Price does have the nine-dart hero Steve Beaton and the dangerous Jamie Hughes in his mini section – while the second quarter of the draw is relatively weaker.

So my rationale here is that he should be able to come through his half and has enough reason to feel somebody else can take MVG out for him in that tough bottom section.

My outsider for the weekend comes in that ‘weaker’ second quarter of the draw, where Max Hopp has high hopes of repeating his heroics of 12 months ago.

The 22-year-old German won his first senior PDC title on this stage in dramatic fashion, beating both Rob Cross and Michael Smith in the semis and final respectively with 121 checkouts on the bullseye in deciding legs.

Since then, he’s managed to pick up another PDC title back in August as well as reaching the European Championship semi-final on home soil, agonisingly losing out to eventual champion James Wade after missing three match darts.

On Monday he once again proved how dangerous he is on home soil – apart from that Premier League nightmare against Barney in Berlin – when reaching the German Darts Grand Prix semis before Simon Whitlock pipped him 7-6 after two match darts were spurned in a decider.

The seeded players in his quarter are Adrian Lewis, Ian White and Darren Webster so he won’t have fears for meeting any of them before life potentially gets trickier against Price, Cross, Whitlock, Cullen or Hughes in the semis.

He’s 801 though and that price is worth a small flutter.

Top half of the draw

Gerwyn Price 3 v Steve Beaton Simon Whitlock 14 v Jamie Hughes Rob Cross 6 v Chris Dobey Joe Cullen 11 v Jerry Hendriks Adrian Lewis 7 v James Richardson Max Hopp 10 v John Henderson Ian White 2 v Jeffrey De Zwaan Darren Webster 15 v Vincent Van der Meer

Today’s FREE Horse racing tips: The Betting Spy’s top picks for Saturday’s racing at Sandown and Leicester

ALTIOR’s bid for a record-breaking 19th straight win in the Celebration Chase 3.00 is the highlight of Sandown’s final card of the jumps season.

With Cyrname missing the only dangers are probably the fences so he is no betting proposition. In the big handicap, the Bet365 Gold Cup 3.35 it can pay to go Back in time in an attempt to find the winner.

STEP BACK absolutely bolted up 12 months ago, with Rock The Kasbah 13 lengths back in second and Present Man a further 14 behind in third.

Those two are back again but they are only 7lb better off and, if Step Back is in anything like the same form, will surely be playing for place money again. Mark Bradstock’s star has yet to win this season but his tendency to jump right has hampered his efforts which have all been on left-hand tracks.

Last time he was pulled up in the Grand National but he did not have too hard a race and, back at the scene of his greatest triumph, he can regain the winning thread.

The handicapper has certainly given him every chance, running off just 10lb higher than last year. His jumping that day was superb and, if he gets into the same groove, he will be hard to catch, let alone pass.

Beware the Bear and Yala Enki look to have plenty of weight and Adrien du Pont and Captain Chaos have to prove their stamina. But Joe Farrell, last year’s Scottish National winner, and progressive novice Talkischeap have each-way claims along with Give Me A Copper and Ballydine.

YOUNEVERCALL would be better named Youneverrace as his appearances are few and far between.

But when Kim Bailey’s eight-year-old recovers from his various setbacks and makes it to the racecourse he is a very useful hurdler.

He can prove that point in the 4.10. Needless to say he runs well fresh so the 126-day absence is not a worry – if anything it is a plus.

He lagged in on his reappearance at Kempton in November in a decent handicap over today’s trip, a reproduction of that effort will make him hard to beat.

Images –

At Haydock WAHASH has a great chance in the 2.05, a handicap over seven furlongs.

He looked set to land a quality mile event at Bath on Good Friday but was just collared close home. Off the same mark he has plenty in his favour here.

Most of the main dangers – Burnt Sugar, Shady McCoy, Cold Stare, Lord Oberon and last year’s winner Safe Voyage – lack a recent run. Let’s hope Richard Hannon’s five-year-old does not make a Wa-hash of the opportunity!

The big race at Leicester is the Listed King Richard III Stakes 2.45 where HEY GAMAN can reign supreme.

He has Group 1 form, goes well fresh and trainer James Tate has his string in great form.

He stays further and that stamina could be crucial as the likes of Commonwealth Cup winner Eqtidaar and Laugh A Minute have to prove they can transfer their 6f form to this longer trip.

Tate has booked some chap called Dettori for the ride which has to be encouraging. Donjuan Triumphant has plenty to do with his 3lb penalty whilst Cardsharp and Larchmont Lad need to find improvement but seem pretty exposed.

I spy an eyecatcher…

At Epsom on Wednesday the market for the novice event over a mile was dominated by Newmarket raiders trained by William Haggas and John Gosden.

So when LE DON DE VIE, having attempted to make all, was challenged by Gosden’s Casanova entering the last two furlongs, he might have been expected to wilt. Not so.

He battled on gamely for a gritty success.

Trainer Andrew Balding immediately stated he would return for a handicap at the Derby meeting and, whatever his fate then, with his qualities he will surely win more races this year.

The 1m2f novice race for three-year-olds 5.00 is a race that Sir Michael Stoute always targets, he obviously believes Leicester gives promising middle-distance colts a good education.

Whatever he runs usually end up as good handicappers or better and last season he took it with the very useful Mekong.

So LAAFY has to be of interest on his reappearance.

He shaped well on his second start, here, last October when running on to be second over a mile in a race that has worked out well.

There is almost certainly much more to come and, in receipt of 7lb from likely favourite Succellus, Stoute could be the one having the last Laaf!

Richard Johnson secures a fantastic fourth jockeys’ title
